Oberth is a single-player arcade game. It is built to need as little information about you as possible, and it has no user accounts.
Nothing that identifies you personally. Specifically:
| Data | Why | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| Your progress, best times and settings | So the game remembers where you are | Stays on your device. Never uploaded. |
| A display name you choose | Shown beside your time on the leaderboard | Uploaded only if you leave “Submit times online” on |
| Your level completion times | To rank the leaderboard | Same as above |
| An anonymous ID | Distinguishes your leaderboard row from other players | Same as above |
| Crash reports | To find and fix bugs | Not currently collected — see below |
The anonymous ID is generated by Firebase Anonymous Authentication. It is a random string. It is not linked to your name, email, phone number, device advertising ID, or any account. We cannot use it to identify you, and neither can anyone reading the leaderboard.
Leaderboard submission is a single switch in Settings → Rankings → Submit times online. Turn it off and nothing at all leaves your device. The game is fully playable in this state — you keep every local record.
If you leave the display name blank, your entry appears as “anon”.
Local data is removed when you delete the app, or immediately via Settings → Progress → Reset all progress.
Leaderboard entries are kept so the rankings remain meaningful. To have your entry removed, email the address below with a description of your display name and rough submission time and we will delete it. Full instructions here.
If this policy changes materially, the updated date at the top will change and the new version will be published at this address before it takes effect.
